VoIP Engineer II

Job Purpose

The VOIP Engineer II will have at least 2-4+ years of Cisco VoIP implementation and/or operations experience in a small to mid- sized corporation/ or service provider infrastructures. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated skills in Cisco VoIP technologies that CBTS delivers. In this role, you must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral are a necessity. Ability to document processes clearly is of extreme importance.

Essential Functions

• Assist deployment and/or operations team(s) with VoIP operations (85%)

◦ Take direction from senior engineers from the operations team as well as direct supervisor for career training and skill development

• Accurately document operations processes and project notes/tickets (15%)

◦ Exchange information, verbally and in writing, clearly, accurately, reliably, and timely

Education

Two years of College or Technical School resulting in an Associate’s Degree or appropriate work experience

Active CCNA Collaboration Certification

Experience/Background

• 2 to 3 years of experience

• Cisco VoIP deployment and/or operations experience with small to mid-sized corporation and/or service provider infrastructures

• Specific Technology Experience

◦ Knowledge of Cisco Call Manager phone configurations

◦ Test, turn up and support SIP trunks, PRI’s and voice gateways

◦ Test, turn up and support analog gateways

• Background in routing and switching with Q0S experience a plus

• Multi-vendor VoIP experience a plus

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Take direction and mentorship from senior staff members, management, project managers, delivery managers

• Demonstrated high aptitude and/or potential for a career within the technology industry

• Desire to work with VoIP technologies

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

• Ability to document processes clearly

• Can rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and meet deadlines

• Can work independently or within a project team Work Environment

• Requires in office attendance

• No Supervisory Responsibility
