Cincinnati Bell Tax Manager in Cincinnati, Ohio
This position is responsible for income, property, sales and use, and regulatory tax compliance as well as the related tax accounting for one or more subsidiaries. This includes ensuring the timely and accurate filing of returns, review of quarterly tax provision calculations and assisting with various projects.
•50% - Work in conjunction with the other tax manager to develop and execute a plan for the preparation and review of domestic and foreign income, property, sales and use, and regulatory tax compliance; this will include the review of all related compliance filings including extensions and payments for one or more legal entities
•25% - Review quarterly tax provision calculations, tax basis balance sheets and deferred tax balances, as well as assist in reviewing various analytical reports designed to ensure the accuracy of the tax accounting processes and conclusions; review operating tax accruals, operating tax budgets, tax account reconciliations and related journal entries
•20% - Assist with various other tax projects including, but not limited to:
◦Manage systems and process implementations to minimize cash taxes or increase efficiencies and accuracy;
◦Represent Tax on various management initiatives regarding new products and/or domestic and foreign expansion opportunities;
◦Enhance exemption certificate processes;
◦Manage tax audits and interact with tax authorities as needed
•5% - Maintain the tax compliance calendar and ensure appropriate updates are made to tax provision, tax depreciation and tax compliance software programs
•Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
•Minimum of 6 years of experience
•Public Accounting experience or equivalent industry experience
•Advanced knowledge and experience in federal, state and local income tax resulting in an understanding of the tax implication of corporate activities
•Experience with ASC 740 and the ability to review tax accounting work products
•Demonstrated knowledge of how to research tax issues
•Ability to seek out and suggest alternate procedures to meet objectives and strict deadlines
•Advanced Excel and data management skills and the ability to quickly adapt to using depreciation, compliance and provision software systems (Familiarity with PowerTax, corporate tax compliance software and Longview Provision systems would be helpful)
•Ability to supervise and mentor direct reports
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Demonstrates attention to detail and strong organizational skills
The position will supervise tax seniors, staff and co-ops.
