Role Overview: Assisting with secure development tooling roll out. Client is migrating from Checkmarx for static code scanning to Coverity. As part of this shift, we need a person skilled in devops tool chains, development practices, and change management to work with product and application teams to integrate their development processes with Coverity.

Deliverables:

  • Migrate several hundred projects onto Coverity scanner

  • Setup Jenkins (or other) CI to include Coverity where applicable

  • Consult teams on initial Jenkins usage in some cases

  • Setup custom github webhook for teams where CI/CD tools are not used

  • Assist with setup and maintenance of coverity infrastructure and scaling

  • Be the main driver and point of contact for teams rolling this out across the enterprise.

Skills Required:

  • Self-starter – person should be able to independently setup time with project teams, and work with them to implement the technologies.

  • DevOps – Familiarity with Jenkins, CI/CD in general, plugin configuration and administration

  • Linux Sysadmin – Ability to configure systems, log into linux and manage infrastructure.

  • Programming – knowledge of programming paradigms, git/github, unit testing, and general development processes and challenges. Specific programming language is not required, though most of the work we do and work with is in Java, so it may be helpful.

In general, requirement calls for a strong technical resource who has the people skills to drive change and work with many development teams.
